Synopsis
The ethnographic documentary presents a critical view on the situation of immigrants in the English capital. In “Outdoor Dreams”, the narrative built by the camera provides us a sensitive encounter with individuals who silently communicate their dreams and their desire to be part of the city on a daily basis. We get to know a little about the human behind the big advertiser banners. People of different nationalities sharing desires, ambitions, needs, issues and conflicts, living in a culture different from theirs, waiting and looking for better opportunities.
PROJECT HISTORY
This is the first short film by director Mariana Fagundes, independently produced during her stay in London, while attending the filmmaking course at the London Film Academy. The documentary was finalized in Brazil with the support of Casca de Noz Production Company. The film was selected for the 14th International Ethnographic Film Festival of Rio de Janeiro in 2009.
